management:
The pub was taken over in April 2008 & over a period of 9 days, and with the help of friends and family, the pub was refurbished to give it a fresher feel and add a touch of village life (including reinstating the dart board)!
Simon has been brought up in Benington, as were his parents and grandparents. The Bell has been his local for many years now, and he still recalls bringing his pumpkin to the pub for the Harvest Festival!
Simon's passion for food led him to France where he started as a cook in a skiing chalet. He then moved on to the South of France where he ran the kitchen in a small but traditional village restaurant. On his return to the UK, he worked in various restaurants, such as Brocket Hall Golf Club, and then moved on to be the Head Chef in a restaurant in Hemel Hempstead.
